Sometimes I get into arguments with people about independent games. Some of my friends point out that most seem to be cheap clones of old puzzle games, and those that aren't are crappy looking entries to the usual genres, where they get kicked in the pants by their more professional competitors. I have to carefully explain to people that the reason these games should exist is to create a sense of community, keeping alive the idea that making games shouldn't be the exclusive domain of multimillion dollar corporations. That sometimes, some guy will come out of nowhere, look at what is possible, get motivated, and come up with a game that is original, enjoyable, and fun. The trouble, of course, is finding his game. Luckily, I got sent this one to review, saving me the trouble.

It lists several factors that define your current relationship to an other player and it makes it very easy to grasp why things are improving or worsening. After all the failed attempts to reduce micromanagement this is finally a part where in my opinion the creators of the game were successful. In fact, I think this is the best diplomatic screen I have seen to date.
However, not all is well with this game, so read on here and tell us your opinion!

When I type, I tend to get carried away. Hopefully I actually make a few points though as opposed to just rambling. This month, I played Dawn of War and I've got a few things to say about it.
Find out what that answer is for yourself in our monster review of the original Dawn of War (all patches installed but expansions not included).
There's a two year old review of Dawn of War up at IGN. It's called StarCraft vs Dawn of War. It doesn't really reach any conclusion, it justs ask the question. Two years on I think it's time we gave them an answer.
